Community Involvement

Diamond is Proud!

This August, Diamond is proud to be supporting Vancouver's (and Canada's) Queer Community by donating the use of a China Top 5-ton truck for use in the annual Vancouver Pride Parade! The truck will be used as a float in the Parade, ridden by individuals promoting free speech, expression and rights for all! It will also feature several Diamond Staff, including our founder and company owner, Rick Diamond, our Abbotsford Dispatcher Trevor, and yours truly, Jake Daynes from IT and Marketing!

Diamond Issues Corporate Challenge for Earth Day

To commemorate and support the goals of Earth Day, April 22nd, 2012, Diamond Delivery is challenging its staff to spend 15 minutes cleaning up around one of the company’s seven terminals throughout BC, or at other locations within our communities.

Diamond Delivery has terminals in Surrey, Abbotsford, Kelowna, Kamloops, Victoria, Nanaimo and Campbell River.

Diamond ships Tulips for SMH

Again, this year, at the end of March 2012, Diamond Delivery delivered Tulip Planters on behalf of the Surrey Memorial Hospital's annual Tulips for Tomorrow celebration to various locations in the Surrey area, such as Guildford Town Centre, Holland Park, Bear Creek Park, Surrey Memorial Hospital, and other proud supporters around the City of Surrey.

GIFTS OF JOY AND FREEDOM

How to offer a healthy taste of freedom to young people struggling to live independently and well? The Chopra Yoga Center Vancouver ( www.choprayogacentervancouver.com), the Mount Seymour Soccer Association ( www.nvfc.ca/club.htm), and the Rick and Sue Foundation ( www.rickandsuefoundation.com) have figured this out.

Communication is Key!

At Diamond, we understand that communication is a key part of ensuring our customers stay happy. The only thing is, we hate paying our cell phone bill as much as you do! So in the name of clear, cheap communication - Diamond is going to pay your bill!

Finding Diamond in Africa

In the summer and fall of 2011, Diamond Delivery worked with Surrey-based Welcome Home and Lift the Children to fill two containers with clothing, soccer equipment, backpacks, school supplies and bicycles destined for orphans in Africa.

Roger's Parade 2011

Here at Diamond Delivery, we take community involvement seriously. To us, it is just one of many ways we can and should give back to the community that has helped us climb this high.

Diamond Delivery has had a staple presence at the Roger's Santa Clause Parade for several years, and once again we donated a truck and trailer to pull the Boys and Girls Club of Vancouver's float. Here are some of the pictures taken from the Parade:

The little things we take for granted: Fun for kids in Africa

Diamond Delivery and The Rick & Sue Foundation arranged to bring soccer uniforms and equipment to the needy children in Africa. The kids were excited to wear the uniforms and delighted to use real soccer balls – for in the past they used balls of string, bags or whatever they could find to improvise a ball.  The kids also received bikes, from the generous donations Diamond Delivery and the Foundation in turn, received from our caring community. These children feel as though they’ve won the lottery, with the little things we take for granted!

Surrey Memorial Hospitals in-house babies

Once again, more than 4,000 babies have been born at Surrey Memorial Hospital over the past year.

But in the case of two special babies, it was the hospital receiving – not delivering – them.

They are SimBabies: realistic simulation dolls that allow the Emergency and Neonatal Intensive Care departments to practice medical scenarios so they can function smoothly as a team when the real thing occurs.

Kawkawa Camp

Earlier in the fall, Diamond Delivery delivered a truck full of red bricks to Kawkawa Camp & Retreat. We recently received a letter from the Executive Director of the Camp, Wayne Stewart, and wanted to share it with you:
