Surrey Memorial Hospitals in-house babies
Once again, more than 4,000 babies have been born at Surrey Memorial Hospital over the past year.
But in the case of two special babies, it was the hospital receiving – not delivering – them.
They are SimBabies: realistic simulation dolls that allow the Emergency and Neonatal Intensive Care departments to practice medical scenarios so they can function smoothly as a team when the real thing occurs.

The SimBabies have heartbeats, make breathing sounds, and can display a multitude of symptoms that prompt our health professionals into action.
The high-tech dolls were both purchased with the help of donors, led by transport company Diamond Delivery, which organized a company fundraiser in support of the SimBaby.
