“As Christmas approaches, we want to make this season of giving memorable by helping the most vulnerable – those who lack the most basic necessities and comforts of life.” – Rick Diamond

Surrey, BC - Almost two years after a devastating 7.0 earthquake rocked Haiti, the poorest nation in the southern hemisphere, more than half a million people still live in tent cities, and many orphaned children remain homeless and uncared for. Diamond Delivery has teamed up with Harvest for Humanity to assist in gathering the furnishings for an orphanage that will provide a home for 50 orphaned Haitian children.
The orphanage will open in a newly-renovated building just outside of Port-au-Prince in early 2012. We are collecting beds and bedding, furniture, appliances, kitchen wares, school and teaching supplies, and recreational equipment. The furnishings will be shipped by container to Haiti in late December.
Diamond Delivery is calling upon corporations and charitable organizations to assist by providing new, refurbished or gently used items such as appliances, electronics, linens, kitchen dishes and utensils, etc. To facilitate collection of the many items required by the orphanage, we are asking that donors undertake to supply a specific category of items according to their product line or resources.
